After years of writing and revision, Janice E.C. Coleman completed Night Walker. She loved the process; from creating and getting to know her characters, to researching the various haunted houses in London and Annapolis, to revising and rewriting to get a better composition. Although she feels she gave a voice and identity to her characters on her first draft, she had failed to give the atmosphere she wanted to create. So, she and her family took a trip to London. Coleman used the journey as a means to research and confirm what she had already read about the city. Truly experiencing London gave Night Walker a new life, and Coleman was finally able to create the atmosphere she wanted. Many of her original "pictures" were confirmed. Walking down Harley Street - Tom's home - was just how she had imagined it. Coleman was then able to embellish almost every paragraph she found lacking. She fell in love with her characters, London, and the process of writing.
